Tezpur University is set to launch a new Department of Defense Studies.
The university's Academic Council and Board of Management have officially approved the initiative, marking a significant step towards enhancing national security education.
 During a recent meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Prof Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, emphasized the strategic importance of having a Defense Studies Department in close proximity to China.  The Defense Minister commended the university's initiative and guaranteed full support from the Ministry of Defence.
 The upcoming Department of Defense Studies will collaborate with experts, defense establishments, and policymakers to establish a booming academic ecosystem in the field of defense studies.  The department will offer a range of programs aimed at nurturing a holistic understanding of national security matters.
