Assam government has announced its plan to install CCTV cameras in all 332 police stations across the state.
This significant development was reportedly disclosed by the state government to the High Court, highlighting the measures taken to increase accountability within the police force, as per reports.
The installation of CCTV surveillance will be carried out in two phases. The first phase involved equipping 100 Police Stations with CCTV cameras, followed by an additional 227 stations in the second phase. The remaining five Police Stations are expected to have their CCTV installations completed in the coming days, reports stated.
