Indian badminton players Ashmita Chaliha and Ravi won the women's and men's singles titles respectively at the Maldives International Challenge in Male. Third seed Ashmita bounced back from a one-game deficit to defeat compatriot Tasneem Mir 19-21, 21-17, 21-11 in the all-India women’s singles final on Saturday. This is the third BWF International Challenge title for the Assamese player.
He has also won the Tata Open India International and Dubai International titles earlier. In the men's singles, unseeded Ravi defeated Malaysia's seventh seed Soong Joo Wen 21-19, 21-18 in straight games.
The top-seeded Indian women's doubles pair of Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam, however, had to settle for being runners-up, losing 22-24,15-21 against the Thai pair of Laxika Kanlaha and Fataimas Muenwong.
