A bridge under construction collapsed in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on Sunday.  The horrific video of the incident has surfaced.  According to initial reports, no casualties were reported, but the bridge collapsed, causing panic at the scene.
Khagaria - Aguwani - Sultanganj bridge between the collapse of the video has come out.  Soon the entire bridge was submerged in the river Ganga.  Surprisingly, part of the bridge collapsed two years ago.  CM Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of the bridge four years ago.
The bridge was being constructed at a cost of Rs 1,717 crore.  Parts of the bridge under construction were also damaged by a storm in April.  The middle part of the Mahasetu being built on the river Ganga between Khagaria and Aguwani and Sultanganj collapsed.  The upper part of the bridge is submerged in the river.
JDU MLA Lalit Mandal said the incident was unfortunate.  We were expecting the bridge to be inaugurated in November-December this year, but such accidents are a matter of investigation.  Strict action will be taken against the culprits.  "It's hard to say anything until the inquiry is done," he said.
