Ponung Doming has become the first woman Lieutenant Colonel of Arunachal Pradesh.  State Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted congratulations to Doming on his historic achievement.  Also shared his photo.  She is the first woman military officer from Arunachal Pradesh to become a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army.
 “A moment of pride for us,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted.  Major Pong Doming has made history.  She is the first woman military officer from Arunachal Pradesh to reach the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army,” he said.
