The Supreme Court on Cheetah has expressed concern over the death of three cheetahs brought from South Africa and Namibia to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh within two months. He also asked the Center to rise above politics and consider transferring them to Rajasthan. A bench of Gavai and Justice Sanjay Karol told the Center that it appeared from expert reports and articles, that KNP was not an adequate place for large numbers of cheetahs. The central government may consider shifting them to other sanctuaries. “Three deaths (of cheetahs) in less than two months is a matter of grave concern,” the bench said.
The Supreme Court also said it appeared Kuno did not have enough room for so many cheetahs. The density of cheetahs in one place is very high. Why don't you search for suitable location in Rajasthan? Just because Rajasthan is ruled by an opposition party doesn't mean you won't consider it. Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati on behalf of the Center said it was examining all possible aspects including shifting them to other sanctuaries.
