History of Mother's Day:
Mother's Day was started by American woman Anna Jorvis. Anna Jorvis laid the foundation for Mother's Day, but Mother's Day was officially introduced on May 9, 1914 by then-President Woodrow Wilson of the United States. At that time, the US Congress passed legislation to celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May each year. Since then, Mother's Day has been celebrated with great pomp in many countries including the United States, Europe and India.
