The Kerala Story: 'Why ban only in Bengal when the film is being shown all over the country', 'Supreme' question from Mamata government

National Desk:
The Supreme Court has questioned the West Bengal government's ban on The Kerala Story.  "What is the point of banning the film in Bengal when it is being shown in other parts of the country?"  West Bengal is like other parts of the country.
The Supreme Court made the remarks while hearing a petition filed by the filmmaker challenging the ban on the film in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
Senior counsel Harish Salve appeared on behalf of Sun Shine Productions on Friday.  He said that on the first day of the film's release, the state chief minister made a statement that the film was against a particular community and its screening could disrupt law and order in the state.  Three days after the release, the state government issued a ban on the film without any problems.
