Turkey Earthquake: Turkey-Syria earthquake devastation after weather hit, 3800 people died, India reached out to help

A devastating earthquake in Turkey on Monday (February 6) has killed hundreds of people.  Thousands of people were injured and hundreds of buildings were razed.  PM Modi expressed condolences over the death toll in the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.  India has also reached out to help deal with the tragedy.  Meanwhile, rescue operations are being hampered by sudden weather changes. 
The most powerful earthquake of the century rocked Turkey and Syria on Monday morning.  Monday's devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake has killed more than 3,800 people and injured more than 6,000 in both countries.  Relief and rescue work is underway to rescue people trapped in the rubble.  Worryingly, the weather has suddenly changed in some areas in Turkey.  Snowfall has started to hamper rescue operations.  The cold weather could make it even more difficult for people trapped in the rubble.
Several world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed condolences over the loss of life caused by the devastating quake.  PM Modi tweeted that he was saddened by the loss of life and property caused by the earthquake in Turkey.  Condolences to the bereaved families.  I wish the injured a speedy recovery.  Tagging a tweet by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, PM Modi said India stands in solidarity with the people of Turkey and is ready to provide all possible assistance to deal with the tragedy.
