President Putin's big step, Ukraine's Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions declared independent

Vladimir Putin statement: Russian President Vladimir Putin has recognized the independence of two regions of Ukraine.  Under this recent decision, the Russian government has signed documents related to the independence of these regions, declaring the independence of Kherson and Zaporizhzhya of Ukraine.

 Before the official announcement of the merger of these regions with Russia, Putin has declared these areas independent, signing a legal decree.  Russian President Putin said in his official statement, 'I order the recognition of the sovereignty and independence of the states of Zaporizhia and Kherson, located in southern Ukraine.'  Putin has also threatened to use nuclear weapons to defend these regions.
 Both these regions have now been declared independent by Russia.  It has been said in these documents that this major decision of the President of Russia is completely based on the universal principles and norms of international law.  which accepts and affirms the principle of equality and self-determination of the people established by the Charter of the United Nations and with regard to the will of the people in a referendum.
