The Southeast Asian nation of Singapore, along with the United States and Britain, has imposed sanctions on Russia.  The Singapore government said in a statement on Saturday that sanctions had been imposed on four banks in Russia.Russia has been fighting Ukraine in vain, alleging that it has cut off trade with Putin's country.  For the time being, Singapore will no longer export to Russia anything from electronic equipment or parts to computer equipment, firearms manufacturing equipment.  The statement said Russia's attack on Ukraine was a "terrible precedent" for small countries.  So in protest, the export trade from Singapore to Russia is being stopped.
The Singaporean government has said it does not want Russia to be involved in cyber-attacks or missile strikes.  So they have banned the export of computers and military equipment to Russia.  "I cannot accept the Russian government's move on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of another country (Ukraine)," he said, adding that "Russia's actions are a dangerous precedent for a small country like Singapore.  That is why we strongly condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine without provocation.
