Leaking papers in Bihar will be fined up to Rs 10 million and 10 years in jail!

Three bills have been passed in Bihar with strict rules to prevent paper leakage in competitive examinations.  With the passage of the bill, anyone who leaks question papers of any examination in the state will get severe punishment.  The law provides for heavy fines as well as punishment for those who leak papers. 

 In Bihar, the Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Improper Instruments) Bill, 2024, the Bihar Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Bihar Elevator and Escalator Bill, 2024 have been passed by the Assembly.  The Nitish Kumar government has taken the paper leak very seriously and has enacted this new law.  The new law provides for 3-10 years of punishment for the perpetrators and institutions involved in the paper leak.  The new bill also provides for fines ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
