Andhra Pradesh Board results within 48 hours of the release of nine students committed suicide

The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Examinations (APBI) had announced the results of the Intermediate Board examination on Wednesday.  Since then, one after another student suicide cases have been reported in the state.  In just 48 hours, nine students have committed suicide.  There are also 2 other students who have attempted suicide.
 More than 10 lakh students had registered for the AP Board examination.  According to the results released, 61 per cent students passed in 11th class and 72 per cent in 12th class.  A 17-year-old boy jumped in front of a train after his exam results came out in Srikakulam area of ​​the state.
A 16-year-old girl from Visakhapatnam also committed suicide by hanging herself at her house.  An 18-year-old student committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Kancharpalem.  He had failed a subject in his second year of intermediate.
Two 17-year-old students from Chittoor district committed suicide after failing the AP Intermediate examination.  In the same district, a child died after swallowing pesticides, while a student committed suicide by jumping into a lake.  Another 17-year-old student hanged himself at his home in Anakapalli.  He was reportedly stressed out after getting low marks in his first year of intermediate.
Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud in February expressed concern over incidents of alleged suicides by students and said his condolences to the bereaved family members of the victims.  “We have to think about where our institutions are going wrong,” he said.  Why students are forced to take their lives.
