National Desk:
Former Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu may be released from jail tomorrow. This information has been given from his official tweet handle. It is written in the tweet that senior officials have informed about the release. Let us tell you that earlier it was expected that Sidhu could be included in those 50 prisoners who could be given special exemption on Republic Day but this did not happen.
Several leaders of the Punjab unit of the Congress had criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the state for not releasing Navjot Singh Sidhu ahead of time from the Neptiala jail. Former state Congress chief Shamsher Singh Dhulo, former MP Mohinder Singh KP, former MLAs Ashwini Sekhri, Navtej Singh Cheema and Rajinder Singh gathered at Sidhu's residence in Patiala to protest against the AAP government.
Significantly, Navjot Singh Sidhu is serving a year's imprisonment in the Patiala Central Jail in the 1988 'Road Rage' case. One person had died in this incident.
