National Desk:
Income Tax Department raids on BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai.  On Tuesday morning, both the offices of the company were raided by the Income Tax Department.  The Income Tax Department has started an investigation regarding irregularities in International Tax.  The first statement from the company has come out on this action.  The BBC has only said that it is fully cooperating with the investigation. They hopes that this matter will be resolved as soon as possible.
BBC said that the Income Tax team is still present in the office and full cooperation is being done from our side.   The Income Tax Department is linking this whole action with tax irregularities, although at this time BBC is also running in controversies because of its Gujarat riots documentary.  The opposition is also raising questions regarding the timing of this raid.
Congress has said in a tweet that first BBC documentary came, it was banned.  Now IT has raided BBC.  undeclared emergency.  On the other hand, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that we are demanding JPC in the Adani case, on the other hand such action is being taken at the BBC office.  Wisdom opposite to the time of destruction.
