Uttarakhand News: Everest winner Savita Kanswal has died in an avalanche on Mount Draupadi in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The bodies that have been recovered so far include the body of Savita Kanswal. Savita Kanswal has died due to being buried in the snow. So far 10 bodies have been found. Uttarakhand DGP has given this information. He told, today the weather was clear, so the team of SDRF, ITBP and NIM was sent by Air Force helicopter. 6 bodies have been recovered. The number of bodies that have been recovered has reached 10 so far. 20 people are missing and relief and rescue operations are on.
The Disaster Management Authority said that a team comprising five personnel of the State Disaster Response Team (SDRF), three trainers from the Nehru Mountaineering Institute was landed at the Dokrani Bamak Glacier base camp of the institute for the search and rescue operation. Two helicopters also inspected the avalanche site from the Indian Air Force base in Sarsawa in Uttar Pradesh and then returned to the Harsil helipad.
