Gyanvapi Case Verdict in Hindu Side Favor: In the Gyanvapi Masjid case, the Varanasi court, while giving its verdict in favor of the Hindu side, has said that the hearing of the case will continue.  While pronouncing this decision, the court dismissed the petition of Anjuman Intejamia Committee.  District Judge AK Vishvesh said that the hearing of the case filed by five Hindu women should continue.  The next hearing in the case will now be held on September 22.  Let us tell you every important thing related to this.

1. In the middle of Varanasi, there is a Kashi Vishwanath temple near Lalita Ghat.  Next to the temple is the Gyanvapi Mosque.  In short, the controversy is whether the Gyanvapi mosque was built by destroying parts of the Kashi Vishwanath temple.  Earlier this year, in August, a local court in Varanasi had reserved its verdict on a petition filed by the Anjuman Islamia Masjid Committee, questioning the sustainability of the lawsuit filed by five women of Hindu religion.
2. In May, the Supreme Court referred the matter to the court of the District Judge of Varanasi.  It was transferred from the lower court, where the hearing was going on till then.
3. The Supreme Court had ordered that keeping in view the complexity and sensitivity of the case, the civil case before the civil judge in Varanasi would be heard by a senior and experienced judicial officer of the UP Judicial Service.
4. A month before the Supreme Court's intervention in the matter, the Civil Court of Varanasi had ordered video recording inside the Gyanvapi mosque based on a petition by Hindu women claiming to have idols of Hindu deities in the Gyanvapi mosque complex.
5. The report of the video recording in the mosque was presented in a sealed cover to a Varanasi court, but the Hindu petitioners controversially released the details hours later.
6. The report claimed that a 'Shivling' was found in a pond within the mosque premises.  Which was used for 'Wuzu' before Muslim prayers.  The judge, who was hearing the case at that time, had ordered the sealing of this pond.
7. This video recording inside the centuries-old mosque was challenged in the Supreme Court by the Gyanvapi Masjid Committee.
8. The petitioners had contended that the video recording is against the Place of Worship Act of 1991, which maintains the religious status of any place of worship till August 15, 1947.
9. The Masjid Committee had argued that such petitions and sealing of mosques would lead to public mischief and communal disharmony, affecting mosques across the country.
10. The mosque committee made similar arguments before the Varanasi district judge's court, while the lawyers for the Hindu petitioners claimed that the law did not preclude their case and they could establish in the court that the mosque complex was in fact a temple  .
