RBI Governor on Inflation: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has given a big statement on the inflation front.  He said that the target of RBI is to bring down inflation to 4 percent in the next two years.  Inflation has come down to 6.71 percent in July, this is the first time in the last four months that inflation has come below 7 percent.In an interview given to a news channel, Shaktikanta Das said that inflation is at its peak, so price gains are stabilizing.  RBI is keeping an eye on every data, there is no need to sit with satisfaction in this matter.  To control inflation, RBI has increased the repo rate by 140 basis points since May.  Due to which it has increased to 5.4%.  In the report of Deutsche Bank, it is expected to increase the repo rate in September.
During his interview, the RBI Governor said that we want to reduce inflation gradually in the coming two years.  We will reach the target of 4 per cent in the coming time without stopping the growth.  He said that many things affect inflation at the global level as well.  The common man will get relief due to reduction in inflation rate.
Speaking on the privatization of banks, Das said that RBI only keeps an eye on the regulation of banks.  The central bank does not have any role in the ownership of banks.  He gave this thing on an independent article issued by RBI.
