The India-Bangladesh train services, which were closed due to the COVID-19 situation, have finally restarts (Passenger train services between India and Bangladesh). The Bandhan Express train started its journey to Bangladesh from Sunday. The Maitri Express will leave Kolkata for Dhaka on Monday morning. There is a lot of excitement among tourists from both countries after the resumption of rail services with the neighboring country.Bandhan Express between Kolkata and Khulna will run twice a week. The Maitri Express between Kolkata and Dhaka will run five days a week.The passenger train service between India and Bangladesh started at 7.10 am, Railway East Zone spokesperson Ekalavya Chakraborty said.
Chakraborty said people on both sides of the border are excited about the launch of the train service. Train tickets for the next few days are already fully booked. He said passengers prefer train travel for its comfort and affordability as well as convenience.
