Punjab Health Minister Vijay Singla was sacked by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on allegations of corruption. Shortly after this, the Anti Corruption Branch arrested Singla. CM Bhagwant Mann has removed Health Minister Vijay Singla from the cabinet due to allegations of corruption. According to reports, Punjab Health Minister Vijay Singla had demanded a percentage commission while awarding the contracts. CM Bhagwant Mann shared a video and said- We will not tolerate corruption of even a single penny. Our party (AAP) has emerged from the movement against corruption. I came to know about the case against a minister in my cabinet who is taking 1 per cent commission in tenders from officials. I am sacking him from the cabinet and have also demanded a police inquiry in the matter.
CM Bhagwant Mann said that the decision was taken to ensure that his government is free from corruption. On the other hand, AAP MP Raghav Chadha lauded the decision, claiming that his party is the only party with honesty and courage to take action against its own leaders. Let us inform that Singla is the MLA of Aam Aadmi Party from Mansa assembly constituency. On March 19, three days after Bhagwant Mann was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Punjab, Singla along with nine other MLAs took oath as a cabinet minister.
