Mumbai's 10-year-old skater Rhythm Mamania created a record by climbing to the base camp of Mount Everest.  She has joined young Indian climbers to climb the base camp.  Rhythm has achieved a rare feat by completing the climb to the base camp at an altitude of 5,364 meters in 11 days.

Rhythm's parents Urmi and Harshal also accompanied Rhythm during the campaign earlier this month.  Urmi, the girl's mother, told on Sunday that Rhythm, a Class V student of MET Rishikul Vidyalaya, located in suburban Bandra, Mumbai, reached the base camp of Mount Everest at 1 pm on May 6.

Rhythm, a resident of Worli, said that whether it is the skating ring or the peak of Aadhar Shiver, it is your determination that takes you towards the goal.  He said that along with skating, trekking has always been my passion, but this trekking taught me how important it is to be a responsible trekker and how to tackle the problem of mountain waste management.
Rhythm's mother said that her daughter was in love with mountaineering since the age of five and her first long trek was to Dudhsagar and since then she climbed the peaks of Mahuli, Sondai, Karnala and Lohagad in the Sahyadri mountain range.  Rhythm went to base camp with Nepal-based company Satori Adventures.  A group of some trekkers from Kutch also accompanied him.
