Lightning strikes have killed 33 people in Bihar so far

 The death toll from lightning strikes on Thursday has risen to 33. As of Friday, a total of 27 people were recorded dead, although the death toll has risen to 33 in 16 districts  .  The death toll is expected to rise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “I express my deep condolences over the loss of lives in lightning strikes in many districts of Bihar.  May God give the bereaved families the strength to endure this immense sorrow.  Under the supervision of the state government, local administrations are already engaged in relief and rescue operations."
