News Desk:
The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve recorded 868 swamp deer in the first-ever eastern swamp deer census.
The total population of the deer recorded in the park include 173 male, 557 female and 138 yearlings.
Floods have reduced the number of vulnerable eastern swamp deer in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, which has been counted for the first time on January 10 and 11.
The park authorities said that the decrease in the population may be been caused due to the floods that took place in 2019 and 2020.
