Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday appointed Poonam Gupta, formerly a World Bank economist, as deputy governor, ahead of its bi-monthly monetary policy committee meeting due to be held between April 7-9, 2025.
She will hold the position for a period of three years.
Gupta currently serves as the Director General of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
