Sam Nujoma, who gave independence to Namibia, died at the age of 95

Sam Nujoma, who gave independence to Namibia from South Africa in 1990, died at the age of 95. He was its first president. He is known as the father of the country. Nujoma's death was announced on Sunday by Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba.

He said that Nujoma breathed his last on Saturday night in a hospital in Windhoek. Mbumba said that the foundation of the Republic of Namibia has been shaken.  Over the past three weeks, the founder of the Republic of Namibia has been hospitalised due to ill health.
