External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar can discuss other issues apart from the meeting with his British counterpart.  External Affairs Minister S.  Jaishankar spoke on the phone yesterday with James Cleverly, who was re-appointed as Foreign Minister in the Rishi Sunak cabinet in Britain.  The talks mainly took place on counter-terrorism, bilateral relations and Ukraine conflict.  Mr Jaishankar said in a tweet that he had received a call from the UK Foreign Minister.
James Cleverley has supported India's permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).  He said that long-term institutions like the United Nations should keep on changing themselves to make their future as influential as the past.  Britain's Foreign Minister had also said about India-London that Britain wants to see India playing an active role at the global level with its size, economic impact.
