Russia-Pakistan Deal: The closeness of Pakistan with India's dear friend Russia is increasing.  Pakistan's Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who is on an official visit to the US, said that Islamabad is ready to buy fuel from Russia at the rate it is providing to India.  The minister said on Monday that he was hopeful that the West would also have no objection to importing subsidized fuel in view of the financial hardship faced by Pakistan due to the recent floods, The News reported.  Dar said the coalition government at the Center has enough time to return to the political front.
On the bypoll results, he said, "ten months is enough for the government to restore its political prestige and gain popularity."  We had to choose one of the two things either to save our politics or to save the country.  We chose the second one.
On US President Joe Biden's statement on Pakistan's nuclear programme, he said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has already said that a strong command and control system exists in the country.  He said that American officials also often acknowledge this.
"I have had 58 meetings with heads of international financial institutions, officials from the US, Saudi Arabia and other countries on my four-day visit to Washington," he said.  Dar said the World Bank and the UK hosted a round table conference to discuss the floods in Pakistan.
