Ukraine Crisis: India issues advisory on Ukraine amid missile attacks, advice not to travel

Russia Ukraine War: The Indian Embassy in Kyiv has issued an advisory for Indian citizens after the missile attacks by Russia in Ukrainian cities.  The embassy has advised Indian citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine.  The Embassy has requested Indians present in Ukraine to keep the Embassy informed about the status of their presence so that they can be contacted if required.  Along with this, Indian citizens have been asked to strictly follow the security guidelines issued by the Ukrainian government and local administration.
    Russia on Monday attacked several of its cities, including the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, targeting civilian targets.  Eight people are reported to have died in the attacks in the capital Kyiv.
    Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on his Telegram account, "Russia is trying to destroy us and wipe us off the earth," appealing Ukrainians to stand firm.
    The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said 75 missiles were fired at Ukrainian targets, 41 of which were neutralized by air defense.  Zelensky said in a video address that the target 10 cities had civic sectors and energy facilities.  "The (Russians) choose such times and such targets with the aim of causing the most damage," he said.
