Mithun Chakraborty receives Dadasaheb Phalke Award

This year, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award will be given to Mithun Chakraborty.  Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav made the announcement on Monday (September 30).  Mithun Da will be honored at the 70th National Film Awards Ceremony on October  Mithun has acted in more than 350 films in Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya and Bhojpuri in his career of nearly 5 decades.
 He started his film career with Hunting in 1976 and won the National Award for this very first film.  In 1982, he became known as I Disco Dancer.  Mithun has won the National Award three times.
