Arunachal's Kabak Yano Becomes First Nyishi Woman to Scale Mount Everest

Mountaineer Kabak Yano has brought laurels for Arunachal Pradesh and made history by becoming the first woman from the Nyishi tribe to successfully climb Mount Everest, the worlds highest peak at 8,848.86 meters.
Kabak Yano, former state-level woman cricketer became the youngest female from the Northeastern states of the country to achieve this feat.
Yano reached the summit at 11.50 am on Tuesday (May 21) along with fellow climbers Babu Sherpa, Ngima Dorjee Sherpa, Subhash Rai, Lakpa Nurbu Sherpa, and Shere Sherpa from Nepal.
