La Liga title: Real Madrid won a record 36th La Liga title

Real Madrid won the Spanish football league La Liga title with four games remaining here.  Madrid beat Cadiz 3-0 despite trying out their bench strength.  The Barcelona side then lost 2-4 against Girona ensuring Madrid the title.  Madrid improved their record to win the La Liga title for the 36th time.  Girona's side moved past Barcelona into second place with 74 points from 34 games.  Barcelona are third with 73 points.  Madrid have 87 points from 34 games, 13 more than Girona.  Girona can now only muster a maximum of 12 points which seals Madrid's title.
