Newsdesk:
The central government on February 13 launched a scheme called 'PM-Surya Ghar: Free Power Scheme' with a budget of ₹75,000 crore.  Under the scheme, 10 million households will be helped to install solar power plants on their rooftops, helping to reduce electricity bills and achieve environmentally friendly targets.
Installing rooftop solar panels will provide many benefits to homes.  Users will get up to 300 units of free electricity per month.  This will save ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 per annum depending on roof capacity and consumption.  You can also earn money by installing charging stations for houses, especially electric two-three wheelers/cars in rural areas.
All households can take advantage of the scheme, but subsidies will only be available for rooftop solar plants up to 3 kilowatts (kW or 3,000 watts) of capacity.  You can apply at https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in.  This website will also help you find out the suitable capacity and benefits of a rooftop solar plant.
