PM's visit to Assam: Prime Minister's two-day visit to Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Assam on Friday for a two-day visit.  On Friday, he will spend the night in Kaziranga and the next morning will enjoy an elephant and jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a 125-foot statue of Veer Lachit Barphukan at Lahdaigarh in Holonga Pathar of Jorhat on Saturday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.  During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate, launch and lay foundation stones for several projects worth Rs 18,000 crore in Assam.  The Prime Minister will arrive at Tezpur airport tomorrow evening and will proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Sanctuary.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spend the night at the Assam Police Guest House in the Kohora Range of the National Park.  Next Saturday morning they will go on safari in the park.  Later, he will travel to Arunachal Pradesh to attend two programmes.
 After Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister will return to Jorhat in the afternoon and unveil an 84-foot statue of the famous Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan at Holonga Pathar.  It has been named the 'Statue of Velor'.  Modi will address a public meeting at Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat and inaugurate, launch and lay foundation stones of several projects worth Rs 18,000 crore through virtual means.
 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the expansion of Digboi refinery from 0.65 million metric tonnes to 1 million metric tonnes at a cost of Rs 768 crore at IOCL's Bethkuchi terminal in Guwahati through virtual medium, Sarma said.
 
Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the Guwahati refinery from 1 million MT to 1.2 million MT at a cost of Rs 510 crore.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Rs 3.992 crore pipeline project from Barauni to Guwahati.

 The Prime Minister will inaugurate Tinsukia Medical College under PM-Divine Scheme and lay the foundation stone of Shivsagar Medical College and B.Sc.  He will inaugurate an infant care unit at Barua Cancer Institute, Guwahati.  The Prime Minister will inaugurate Shivsagar Medical College and Hospital from Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat.
 Besides, Modi will also dedicate two railway projects of doubling railway lines from Dhupdhara to Chaygaon and New Bongaigaon to Sarbhog to the nation.  Modi will also attend the home entry ceremony of 5 lakh 50 thousand housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through virtual medium.
