Assam Motor Workers Council Calls For 24 Hours Chakka Bandh On May 1

The All Assam Motor Workers Joint Council have called for a 24-hours Chakka Bandh from 5 AM on May 1. 
The council has put forward a list of demands for the welfare of the motor workers. The bandh is called for on International Workers' Day. Among other demands, the council wants the establishment of a Shramik Bhawan and the implementation of major welfare schemes for the motor workers.
As per reports, the council has stated that all commercial vehicles including buses and taxis will remain off the roads.
