Youth Stabbed To Death In Maligaon During Bihu Function

A murder incident was reported in the Maligaon area of Guwahati amidst the festivities of Rongali Bihu on Saturday night, April 15. 
The deceased has been identified as Rohit Kumar Gami. Sources said that the horrific incident took place at Maligaon stadium last night while the Bihu function was going on. A fight broke out with among a group of youths in the stadium and as a result the youth was reportedly stabbed to death by another group. Another youth was also reportedly injured in the incident. 
Police have detained a youth in connection with the incident while several others are reported to be absconding. 
Talking to the media, Rohit's father said that his son had gone to see Bihu and it was reported in the morning that he had been stabbed with a knife. 
"We came to the GMCH and found that he had died at the hospital," said the father.
Meanwhile, the cousin said that they had come from Bihar to earn. The body should be allowed to be taken to Bihar.
