EPC solution provider Larsen & Tubro has launched a multipurpose whistle for the Indian Navy. It is called 'Supporter'. Developed under the Make in India vision, INS 'Supporter' is 107 meters long and 18.6 meters wide, with a displacement of over 3,750 tonnes. It is designed and manufactured in-house by Larsen & Tubro. Capable of launching and recovery of surface and air targets, maritime surveillance, patrolling, providing humanitarian assistance.
Navy Wives Welfare Association President Shashi Tripathi, Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition Vice Admiral B Shivakumar, Assistant Controller Rear Admiral Sandeep Mehta, Flag Officer Commanding - Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Region Rear Admiral Ravi Kumar Dhingra and senior officials of Larsen & Toubro .The vessel was formally launched at Kattupalli Shipyard.
