Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi will be the next Navy Chief

The Union Government has appointed PVSM, AVSM, NM Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi as the new Chief of Naval Staff.  He will assume office on the afternoon of April 30, 2024.  Vice Admiral Tripathi is currently the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff.  The present Chief of Naval Staff, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Admiral R Hari Kumar is retiring on April 30, 2024.

 Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi was born on May 15, 1964.  He was appointed to the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on July 1, 1985.  They are communications and electronic warfare specialists.  His long and distinguished service in the Navy spanned nearly 39 years.  He served as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command before taking over as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff.
