Mexico has the world's deepest blue hole.  It is located in Chetumal Bay, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.  It’s called ‘Tam Ja Blue Hole’.  So far, scientists have not been able to measure its depth but initial calculations suggest it is about 1,380 feet deep and in the undersea surface.

The previous record for the deepest crater was held by Dragon Hole in the South China Sea.  It was 990 feet deep.  While, the Tam Ja Blue Hole is 390 feet deeper than the crater in China.  Divers discovered the crater on December 6 last year.  A report was published last April 29 in the journal Frontiers in Marine Science.  Scientists used Conductivity, Temperature and Depth Profiler (CTD) technology to measure its depth.  This provides real time data of the ocean bottom surface.  This shows that it is the deepest blue hole in the world.  to the bottom of which no diver or submarine has yet been able to go.
