India has achieved a major technological milestone by becoming the first country in the world to commercially produce bio-bitumen, a sustainable alternative to conventional petroleum-based bitumen, made from agricultural residues, primarily rice straw. This initiative aims to make road construction more environmentally friendly and address the serious problem of air pollution.
