Bar Council of India (BCI) has extended the time limit to clear the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) from two years to three.But, if they fail to do it in 3 years, they will not be able to carry on with legal practice and their name will be struck off the list of lawyers. The relaxation of 1 year will be applicable to lawyers nominated from 2022.MP State Bar Council president Radheshyam Gupta and vice president RL Saini said the State Bar Council had requested the Bar Council of India to extend the period for newly nominated lawyers to pass the AIBE to 3 years in place of 2 years.The Bar Council of India deliberated on the issue and agreed to extend the period of provisional nomination for the new lawyers to 3 years in place of 2. The one year relaxation will apply to lawyers provisionally nominated from 2022.
