Naga Poet and writer Easterine Kire has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award 2024 for the best novel in English for her book “Spirit Nights.”The Sahitya Akademi Award is a prestigious literary honor in India, presented annually by the Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters, to recognize authors of the most exceptional literary works published in any of the 22 languages listed in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, as well as in English and Rajasthani.
