Abdul Rahim Rathor who became the first Assembly Speaker of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir

A new assembly speaker has been elected in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.  National Conference MLA Abdul Rahim Rather has been elected as the first speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.  Abdul Rahim is a seven-time MLA from Charar-e-Sharif.  Protem Speaker Mubarak Gul conducted the election for the post of Speaker and Abdul Rahim was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Assembly.
