An expedition team under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense hoisted a huge national flag on the highest peak of the African continent.  Days before the 78th Independence Day, the 7,800-square-foot tricolor was hoisted to the Uhuru Peak of Kilimanjaro.  The Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The aim, the ministry said, is to inspire future generations of people with disabilities and other disadvantaged youth to pursue their dreams, no matter how great a crisis they may be in.  Ahead of the 78th Independence Day, a team of disabled people from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) under the auspices of the Defense Ministry hoisted the 7,800-square-foot Indian national flag on top of the Uhuru peak of Kilimanjaro.
