Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced the granting of 'Mini Ratna' status (Category-I) to Central Electronics Limited

During his Golden Jubilee celebrations, Union Minister Dr.  Jitendra Singh announced that Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has been conferred the "Mini Ratna" status (Category -1) in recognition of its financial stability, profitability and operational excellence in recent years.
 Celebrating 50 years of service, CEL has turned from a loss-making PSU to a profitable one with an appreciable net profit of around Rs 58 crore and has paid dividends to the Government of India for three consecutive years.

 CEL has made significant contributions in defence, railways, security, surveillance and solar energy sectors by promoting indigenous technologies.
