Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has appointed Professor Naima Khatun as its Vice-Chancellor. This is a historic moment for AMU. This is the first time in nearly 100 years that a woman has been appointed to the post of Vice-Chancellor at AMU. Her
appointment was announced Monday.
Professor Naima Khatun has a long academic experience of more than three decades. After completing her doctorate in psychology, she joined AMU in August 1988 as a lecturer. In recent years, she has held various academic positions at AMU. She became principal of AMU Women's College in July 2014. She previously served as an associate professor and professor in the Department of Psychology.
