An instrument installed in the Pragyan rover of Chandrayaan-3 has confirmed the presence of oxygen in the south pole region of the moon. This is done by the payload, the Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) instrument. This was the first in-situ experiment of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface. In addition, hydrogen is currently being discovered. If hydrogen is also found after oxygen, it will be easier to make water on the moon.
LIBS analyzes the lunar surface by throwing intense laser beams at it. These laser beams fall on stone or soil with extremely high intensity. This creates extremely hot plasma there. Just like it comes from the sun. The light emitted by plasma indicates the presence of minerals or chemicals on the surface.
You can see all these things in the chart above. which are written by their chemical names. Also the minerals or chemicals that have been discovered- are... Sulfur, Aluminum, Calcium, Iron, Chromium, Titanium, Manganese and Silicon. In other words, the amount of these things may be more or less, but all these things are present on the surface of the moon.
