Chandrayaan-3 is now a short distance from the lunar surface. Its landing on the moon is scheduled for August 23 at 6:44 pm. But now this may change. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said the landing of the moon could be extended till August 27.
Nilesh M. Singh, Director, Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad; "Two hours before the Chandrayaan lands on the moon, we will review the position of the lander and the moon and then decide on landing the lander on the moon," Desai said. If we think the lander or moon conditions are not right for landing, we will postpone it until August 27th. We will try to land the lander on August 23rd.
