A passenger bus crashed near Gangnani on Gangotri National Highway in Uttarakhand. The bus was carrying about 34 people. Six people were reported killed in the accident. Twenty-seven people have been rescued. One person is still reported missing. Uttarkashi SSP Arpan Yadav has reached the spot and taken stock of the incident. DM, SP, SDM, SDRF, NDRF, fire service and 108 ambulances are on the spot. Rescue operations are also underway. The Gujarat passenger bus was coming from Gangotri to Uttarkashi. During the incident, it fell 150 meters from the road near Gangnani towards the river.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed sorrow over the incident. CM Dhami posted on social media social site 'X' and wrote, "Received extremely painful news of some casualties when a bus traveling from Gangotri to Uttarkashi crashed at Ganganani. Immediate relief and rescue to the administration." has directed to ensure proper arrangements for treatment of the injured with conducting the work.God grant the departed souls a place at Sri Charan and the bereaved relatives strength to bear this ordeal.I wish speedy recovery of all the injured ."
