Difference between BJP leader Rajen Gohain and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, who has been continuously reaching the heights of success since his entry into the BJP, has faced a major challenge for the first time.  Angered by the delimitation of his Nagaon Lok Sabha seat, former Union Minister Rajen Gohain on Friday resigned as chairman of the Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.  Rajen Gohain is a veteran Assam BJP leader.  After his resignation, Gohain claimed that the wrong delimitation would make it impossible for the party to win the seat in the future.
Rajen Gohain, who has represented Nagaon Lok Sabha seat four times, said he had spoken to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma about the delimitation but to no avail.  "No one should be given unlimited powers in the state unit of the party," he said, without naming anyone in the media.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Rajen Gohain said the recent delimitation process has left the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency unworthy of BJP's victory in the future.  People living in this constituency have also been put at risk due to demographic changes,” he said in the letter. “Even after several rounds of talks with you, I am concerned about the way the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency is being constituted  Despite my concern and deep dissatisfaction, nothing has changed.
