The G20 Film Festival kicks off today, screening films from 16 countries

The G20 Film Festival has kicked off.  The festival started on August 16 and will continue till September  It will be attended by not only the G20 countries from around the world, but also other countries.  The G20 Film Festival kicked off with Satyajit Ray's 'Pather Panchali'.  The show was packed on the first day.  People from home and abroad attended the festival.  
 According to Shyam Sharan, President, India International Centre, the G20 Film Festival aims to strengthen relations and collaborative partnerships between the G20 and the invited countries in the field of cinema.  The festival will bring together films from more than 16 countries, whose films will be screened at the Indian International Center till September  The festival will also screen films from G20 countries.  Also included are those not attending the G20 conference.
 The G20 summit is being celebrated in many dimensions.  One of these is the film festival.  This will improve international understanding.  We will celebrate each other’s culture and art.  One Earth, One World and One Family are the festivals that show him this.
 The film festival was inaugurated by G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant.  He said the festival would be very useful in taking the G20 conference forward.  The Prime Minister's statement of One Earth, One World, One Future shows the soft power of our country that we are displaying all over the world through cinema.  The cinema of India is not just Bollywood cinema, it is Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, all languages.  We are putting India's soft power in front of the world through this.  The film festival will run from August 16 to September 2 at the IIC.
